REMEMBRANCE

This is a lil' poem I wrote for a lady in remembrance of her mother. After she told me she had passed on, it moved me in a way that she wanted me to write her this poem. I learned that words can heal a person, a soul, as well as murder that person. But, I wrote her this several years ago. I was hard to write because my mom is still living. I tried to put myself in her shoes but....... you know.

"REMEMBRANCE"

For everyday that comes, I reminisce.
Thinking about my mother who's spirit has moved on.
She was a good commodity to my childhood,
and a great provider, so I wouldn't wander barefoot.

Sometimes, I experience loneliness,
even with a room filled to capacity.
There's no companionship as hers.
No bond as strong, 'cause other tears.

She lives through me,
in this dark, cold, shady atmosphere.
I fight back the tears in ambition,
but have to pray to be strengthen.

A strong foundation in life is critical.
I show my gratitude to her for helping construct mines.
She had volumes of passion, persistence, and pride,
and an obligation to be there right by my side.

Her comfort, guidance, strength, and integrity
made me the individual that I am today.
I thank God for the opportunity to know her.
Without her presents in life I would be nowhere.

You will always be in my mind and heart.
And until we meet in that Promised Land,
where I know you are residing,
You will always be in Remembrance.
